SSCHAIR is a charity which offers confidential support to people who have been affected by childhood sexual abuse.
Who Can We Support?
Survivor’s of child hood sexual abuse
Partners of people who have experienced abuse
The family of adult survivors
The parents of children under the age of 18 who have experienced child hood sexual abuse
The families of perpetrators of sexual abuse
Any relevant other in a survivor’s support network
What Support Do We Offer?
One to one individually tailored support which can include anything that a person finds difficult such as making/attending appointments, accessing social activities, accessing education or employment, physical/emotional health & wellbeing, accessing other services, developing individualised coping strategy tool kits, etc.
Drop in sessions which are run weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6-8pm and Thursday mornings 10am-1pm.
Weekly closed group sessions which are run by experienced and professional facilitators and which look at a specific theme for 2 months at a time. Some of the themes explored to date are self care, exploring anger, connections, trust and mindfulness. Any group member can request to have a specific theme explored.
